Inspection of the process and products of nanotechnology products

The Materials whose structure or components are on the nanoscale are called nanomaterial. The standard size range is 1 to 100 nm. In this scale, materials typically exhibit unique and enhanced properties, They have a wide range of applications in science, technology, and medicine industries which makes them valuable.

Testing nano products regularly and accurately is crucial to ensure their reliability and safety across different industries like healthcare, electronics, and material science. Since nano products have unique properties due to their dimensions, they require special techniques for precise analysis.

Nano product reviews are crucial to guarantee quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. ASCO International is delighted to have received inspection accreditation for nanomaterials from the National Accreditation Center of Iran, We are the first quality inspection company to have achieved this accreditation and an authorized agent of the Iran Nanotechnology Innovation Council for nanoscale inspection and sampling.

7 steps to obtaining Nanoscale certificate:

  • Preparation of product technical documentation

In order to apply for a nanoscale certificate, the applicant must perform tests to characterize the nanoscale component and check the properties of the product. The results of these tests should show the size, material of the nanometer component and properties based on nanotechnology of the product.

  • Registration of the company in the Nanoscale Portal

The applicant can register after performing the required analysis and obtaining their results. First, register your company on the Login.nanoproduct.ir portal.

  • Product Registration

After registering the legal information of his company in the nanoscale portal, the applicant can register the desired product or products from their user panel.

In general, at this stage, the applicant must register the following:

  • Scientific title of the product in Farsi and English;
  • Product trademark (if any);
  • production capacity (exact amount of production in terms of time);
  • production level (industrial/pilot/laboratory scale);
  • A summary of the product manufacturing process;
  • National or international product standards;
  • Loading the results of product analysis;
  • Uploading approval from other organizations (such as the Food and Drug Organization, Jihad Agriculture, etc.) and scientific articles related to the product.
  • Checking the technical documentation of the product

After the final registration of the product, the review of technical documents by the technical team begins. By analyzing the tests, submitting the documents, and holding an admission meeting (if needed), the result will be announced to the applicant in one of the following three situations:

Non-acceptance: If nanotechnology’s relationship with the product is unproven, it will be rejected and removed from the evaluation process.

Conditional acceptance: If there isn’t enough documentation to prove that a product is related to nanotechnology and has improved properties based on nanotechnology, its acceptance will depend on fixing the issues in the documentation. To help with this, applicants can receive a research laboratory network grant to complete the necessary technical documentation. The applicant must take action to remove any defects within six months; otherwise, the application will be rejected.

Acceptance: If all the documents are completed, the product will be accepted.

  • Inspection and sampling

At this stage, before the start of the inspection process, the applicant must contact the inspection company and, after making the necessary arrangements, enter the desired time for the visit and the receipt of the visit fee to the inspection agent in the nanoscale system. Upon acceptance of the product, a letter will be sent to the company with information about the inspection agent and the visit fee amount. (The test plan includes the tests performed on different samples of the production process by the inspection agent, also the acceptance criteria for each of the tests are specified in the test plan.)

If the product gets approved, the company will partially reimburse the deposited fee with support from Nano headquarters.

After analyzing and conducting the necessary tests on the product sample, the inspector prepares a comprehensive report to present to the specialized committee.

  • Examining the case in the specialized committee

After reviewing the technical documentation and inspection results, the specialized committee provided the final evaluation summary of the product. According to the summary of the expert committee, if the results of the sampling tests in the visit phase and the inspector’s observations are consistent with the documents uploaded by the applicant in the acceptance phase, the Nano product is approved otherwise it is not approved.

  • Announcing the result to the applicant

According to the summary of the expert committee, the result (approval/non-approval of the product) will be notified to the applicant company electronically through the nanoscale portal. It is important to note that if the product meets the conditions to receive the nanoscale certificate, the certificate will be mailed to the company’s address. Also, if the product is not approved, the applicant may send objections to the expert committee’s decision by submitting a letter to info@nanoproduct.ir.
